Dubai Launches Crypto Payments for Public Services
Dubai has partnered with Crypto.com to enable cryptocurrency payments for government services, marking a significant step in the emirate’s digital finance ambitions. The initiative was unveiled at the Dubai Fintech Summit, where officials confirmed the integration of Crypto.com’s wallet infrastructure to process transactions.
Payments will be converted from crypto to UAE dirhams (AED) before reaching government accounts. While specific cryptocurrencies weren’t disclosed, the use of stablecoins was confirmed to ensure transaction stability. The service will launch upon completion of technical integrations.
